Into the Valley

Trail snacks by the waterfall

Homemade dinner at a native house
After breakfast and pickup in Lençóis, we drive to the village of Guiné, the starting point of our journey. A challenging but steady uphill climb (about 1 hour) takes us to the "Gerais", a vast high-altitude plateau offering open views of the surrounding landscape. From there, we walk across the plateau toward the unforgettable Pati Valley Viewpoint—a panoramic lookout that truly takes your breath away. After a snack with a view, we begin the descent into the valley. This section is a bit more technical, but our reward is a refreshing bath in the Funis River waterfalls. We end the day at a native house with a delicious homemade dinner and warm hospitality.
The Castle & the Valley

Castle Mountain

River bath
On this day, we change accommodations and venture deeper into the heart of the valley. Our goal: Lapinha Hill, also known as Castle Mountain. The ascent is steep and forested, leading us to an epic summit with views over the entire valley, the Pati River, and even glimpses of the Calixto waterfall. We pass nearby a mysterious cave close to the summit—an experience as thrilling as the view itself. After a rest and snack, we descend and return to a new host family home, with a stop for a dip in a peaceful river pool.
Calixto Waterfall Adventure

Calixto Waterfall
We continue our journey through the Valley towards Calixto Waterfall. The trail takes us through a lush preserved forest, filled with exotic vegetation and wildlife. Get ready to face uphill and downhill sections that will test our endurance and reward us with breathtaking panoramic views. After reaching the majestic Calixto Waterfall, it's time for a well-deserved break. Refresh yourself in its invigorating waters and enjoy a delicious snack before we return to our last night of rest in the valley.
Cachoeirão from the Top

Cachoeirão Viewpoint

Cachoeirão Waterfall
Our final day is the longest but incredibly rewarding. We begin early, climbing steep up to reach the Cachoeirão viewpoint—the highest waterfall in the valley. In the rainy season, you'll see over 20 separate cascades plummeting over a 270-meter-high canyon wall. After soaking in the view (and maybe a quick swim), we begin our return to Guiné, where our transport back to Lençóis or Palmeiras awaits.
