Pati Valley - 2 Days

Reconnect with nature in one of Brazil’s most spectacular trekking destinations.

The Pati Valley is one of the most breathtaking trekking experiences in Brazil. Nestled in the heart of Chapada Diamantina National Park and surrounded by stunning plateaus, waterfalls, and deep canyons, it’s the perfect place to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and feel deeply immersed in nature.

But this is more than just a hike. It’s a transformative journey—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Trekking through ancient landscapes, we discover resilience, presence, and appreciation for the simple things in life. You’ll leave this trail with more than memories: you’ll carry the essence of the valley with you.

ACCOMMODATION IN THE VALLEY

During the trek, we stay in the homes of welcoming native families. These rustic houses offer basic but clean accommodations, shared or double rooms with beds, linens, blankets, and towels.

You'll enjoy hearty, home-cooked meals made with love—freshly baked bread, local fruits, cakes, coffee, and homemade dinners featuring rice, beans, vegetables, salads, and regional specialties.

In high season, you may share the house with other friendly trekkers from around the world. During the quieter months, it might be just our group and the peaceful silence of the valley.

ITINERARY OVERVIEW

DAY 1: Into the Valley

After breakfast and pickup in Lençóis, we drive to the village of Guiné, the starting point of our journey. A challenging but steady uphill climb (about 1 hour) takes us to the “Gerais”, a vast high-altitude plateau offering open views of the surrounding landscape.

From there, we walk across the plateau toward the unforgettable Pati Valley Viewpoint—a panoramic lookout that truly takes your breath away. After a snack with a view, we begin the descent into the valley. This section is a bit more technical, but our reward is a refreshing bath in the Funis River waterfalls.

We end the day at a native house with a delicious homemade dinner and warm hospitality.

First night in the valley

Our second and final day is the longest, but incredibly rewarding. We begin early, climbing gently up to reach the Cachoeirão viewpoint—the largest waterfall in the valley.

In the rainy season, you’ll see over 20 separate cascades plummeting over a 270-meter-high canyon wall. After soaking in the view (and maybe a quick swim), we begin our return to Guiné, where our transport back to Lençóis or Palmeiras awaits.
